MEDIA EXPRES is known as the Romanian Cable-TV industry magazine, a business-to-business publication, with national distribution, independent of the media groups existing in the Romanian market, founded in the year 2000. The www.mediaexpres.ro site was launched in 2001, and the Media Expres Media Yearbook appears since 2003. The company was founded in the Translivanian city of Cluj-Napoca, currently relocated in Romania's capital Bucharest. to edit the first business magazine for the audiovisual industry, based on a project by Mihai Pavelescu (at this time journalist on media and audiovisual at the main local news agency). The project received the first year EU funding under the PHARE program.
Media Expres' magazine circulation reaches an average of 500 copies per month, in A4 format, 36 to 52 pages per issue, with a cover price of Lei15 (around Euro3,4), it is distributed by traditional mail on a mailing list to cable executives, television and other professionals in the industry including advertising, equipment, and also to the authorities in the broadcasting and communications in Romania (CNA, ANCOM, Chamber of Deputies and Senate, the Ministry of Culture and The Ministry of Communications within the Government of Romania), and to the professional associations in target areas, of which the most important was the cable association ACC, and still are ARCA - the association of private TV stations in Romania, and ACeR - the association of the independent cable companies.
Media Expres magazine participate as a media partner at international fairs and exhibitions in the fields of interests, including NATPE, MIPTV, and IBC Amsterdam.
The Media Expres Yearbook is the who's who catalog of companies in the Cable, TV, Satellite, Equipment, and Services industries in Romania. The Yearbook is published once a year, and was traditionally launched in Autumn on the occasion of cable Convention organized by the Association of Cable Communications or ACeR.
In 2014 Media Expres launched www.mediaexpres.net and the Media Expres Adria edition for the countries: Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovine, Muntenegro, Kosovo and Macedonia.
